I've been meaning to post about the 2010 Buddy Walk. It is a walk held to promote awareness about Down syndrome. There will be a walk in Columbia at Saluda Shoals Park on October 17, 2010. We created a team for Lilly - Team Lilly Pad! As a team we are working on helping Family Connections of SC fundraise for the big event. Donations go towards Family Connections of SC and also to Down syndrome research through the National Down Syndrome Society. Family Connections is a great organization that helps support families in South Carolina with special needs children (not just Down syndrome). Lilly has already done a great job fundraising, she has raised $815 in just a short period of time. Thank you to those who have helped her! Even if you can't donate we would love to see you there to support our Lilly Pad!
There will not only be the fun walk, but there will be a lot of kid activities (ie face painting, ponies, games, etc). You can also come and enjoy the beautiful park as well - apparantly there are tons of really nice walking and hiking trails. Show your support for Lilly!
