Totally Random

Okay, yes I am dork. But I can't let this one go by undocumented. I think I have spent money on the BEST deal EVER!!!
So our remote for directv has been crapping out - it could have been the fact that it has been chewed up by a dog.... But anyway, so I went in search of a new remote. If you go to walmart they are like $20 plus. So of course I search tried and true Amazon. And low and behold the exact same remote ranges in prices from $0.59 to $25.00. Huh, 59 cents really for a brand honkin' new remote????
What do I have to lose with 59 cents!? Okay, so shipping was $5. Well $5.59 later, the remote works like the bomb!!! And I even programmed it to work the tv and dvd player!! (With a little help of the internet).
That's what I'm talking about. The simple things in life.

Buddy Walk 2011
We had our Buddy Walk this past Sunday. It was a blast once again! We ended up raising around $1200, less than last year. But still not too shabby, in my opinion. Our shirts once again were awesome and a lot of fun. We had a bunch of people come support our awesome Lilly Pad, but we never got a chance to take a group photo this year! Ahh! Oh well, here are a few pictures of our day.
Family Portrait

Olivia Rose sporting her team shirt in style

Lilly getting pumped before the walk with her friends.

Grandma Love

Okay, make it fair- both grandma's get to hold

And probably the most fun thing there was the photo booth!!!

Once again a fun event this year and an awesome way to celebrate Lilly and all the special buddies around.

I love my kid
This is why I love my kid! And how difficult it is to take a picture of her- she just wants to grab the camera.

On another note- update on baby number 2: Went to the doctor again. Got to hear the heartbeat, a nice speedy 155 beats/minute. Everything is going well. We have another ultrasound scheduled in 3 weeks!! Woo hoo, we get to know if it's a boy or girl then!

Number 2!
Sorry it's been a month since our last post! But if you haven't heard we have good news!!
We are expecting number 2!!! Yes that means baby number TWO!!! So poor poor Lilly is no longer the only child. I think she will enjoy having a little brother/sister though :)
Here is a glimpse at the first photo op of our little one. He/She is 15 weeks old now! Due on March 30, 2011.
On a random note. I found this picture from a couple months ago. Look how innocent and angelic my child looks.... Boy does she have the world fooled!

Buddy Walk Time
It's Buddy Walk time again, folks. I'm a little behind the ball here - as I have been with a lot of stuff lately, but anyway, it's time to start fundraising!! Last year Lilly did great, she raised just over $2000 buckeroos. So hopefully we can meet last year's fundraising this year.
I just added the widget to the left - you can easily donate by clicking on that button. If you'd rather, you can click HERE to go straight to Team Lilly Pad's fundraising page. The First Giving page is a little different this year, I can't figure out where to put our "target", so please excuse that the widget says our target is $0!! But it is still very easy to use for donating. And don't forget all donations are tax deductible!
If you don't know or have forgotten, we are fundraising to help support Family Connections of SC and to promote awareness and educate people about Down syndrome. Funds go mostly to the Family Connections organization, but some also goes to the National Down Syndrome Society and research. Not many people are aware that Down syndrome, or Trisomy 21, is the MOST common genetic "boo boo", yet it is the LEAST funded in terms of research! Now that's just pathetic.
So come on out and support our Lilly Pad and all her buddies. We'd love you to donate to the cause and we'd love to see you walk with Team Lilly Pad on October 23rd. It was a blast last year and I expect the same this year!
The Buddy Walk this year will be held Sunday, October 23rd from 1 pm to 5 pm at Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia.

Target
So I went to Target to get a baby shower gift for a friend and I was trying to figure out which bag it was she wanted. After spending a few minutes concentrating hard on this, I turn around and this is what I saw! So I figured, she already got the germs from the cart, so why not take a few seconds to snap a picture :)

Birthday Party
So this post is 2 weeks late, but I just got the pictures downloaded today.
Lilly had her 1 year old birthday party 2 weeks ago. It was so much fun. We had lots of friends and family over to help us share this momentous occasion. We held the party at Mama and Papa's house and took full advantage of the pool!
Here are a few pictures.
We started the day by baking cupcakes all morning and early afternoon. Here was the finished product.
We decorated the house and set up tables.
Eli and Michael helped blow up the pool toys.
Lilly tried to help too. Is she not the prettiest birthday girl you've ever seen!!!???
Everyone enjoying the pool.
My birthday cupcake will be this big...
I don't think she's ever seen fire!
Not a chance in front of this huge crowd. Yeah, so she barely touched her cake at the party, not too exciting.
It's time for presents. Good thing Isabel was there to help open them!

The Great Debate
Okay. So the most current subject of debate on the Jones Farm has been over a hair cut. Eric is in the opinion that Lilly's hair should not be cut, but rather be constantly put back with a clip all the time.
Let me argue my point here. The childs "bangs" are growing at a rate approximately 14.7 times faster than the rest of her hair. This has resulted in a comb over. Not only that but she is starting to resemble "Flock of Seagulls". Yeah, you remember that 80's band. Well, let me just show you the evidence.
Exhibit A -

Exhibit B -

Case in point - the child needs her bangs cut.
Now I will leave this for a jury of my peers to decide.
Oh and yes, Saturday's big birthday bash was a blast. I will post on that once I get some time!

And then there was sound...
So Lilly had her ear surgery today! She had her ears super duper cleaned out, and tubes placed. She got the upgraded, heavy duty, military issued type of tubes, so they should last her hopefully 2 years, instead of the standard 6 months - 1 year. She apparantly had some bad infections going on - who would of known, the kid never complained, she just flunked her hearing tests and had some gunk every once in a while.
Anyway, we left the house at 5 am today, and were back by 9am! (That's including a 50 minute drive to the hospital). It was in and out. She did great, didn't ever cry, even when the anesthesia people took her away. By late morning she was playing and hopping around the house like nothing ever happened!
So good news, is hopefully our kid can hear again!! Exciting to see how it goes now.

Great News
So we finally sold Bel Gel!! (That's Belmont to everyone else).
I've been trying to sell him for 7 months. I've had him since he was 3 months old and now he's 5 years old, but it was time. He didn't want to be a dressage horse, he'd much rather just look pretty and jump over pretty fences. And we all know you can't make someone do what they don't want to do (whether it's people or horses), so this is awesome. He's got a great new trainer that rides him SO well, and he has his new owner wrapped around his pinky finger (that is, if he had a pinky finger).
Then...

First Zoo Trip
So last Friday we took our very first trip to the zoo with Lilly! We went along with her cousins, Isabel and Olivia. Lilly was awesome, and seemed to really enjoy herself.
This is our attempt at getting a photo op with the tiger statue...

Lilly loves her Daddy!!

Her absolute favorite was watching the penguins swim!! She could of sat there for hours and watched them go back and forth!

Isabel kissing the dinosaur.

Way cool giraffe! (Yeah I know Daddy looks funny in this one :) )

What a turkey??
